Symposia Proposal Rules, Regulations and Guidelines

On behalf of the Scientific Committee of the ISAD 2023, thank you for submitting your work for presentation at the 12th Conference of the International Society for Affective Disorders in Milan, Italy. We have an on-line submission and evaluation process administered by Kenes; please take a moment to read the following simple guidelines.

All proposals must be submitted on-line through the online submission system. Proposals that are sent via e-mail or fax will not be included in the assessment process by the Scientific Committee.

Extended symposium submission deadline is 22 May 2023. Kindly note that the submission system will be closed after this deadline.

SYMPOSIA SUBMISSION GUIDE

The Chair assumes full responsibility for the contents of the proposal and must ensure that all other authors have approved the proposal before submission.

The Chair and the additional speakers will be required to register for the conference to have acceptance of the symposium confirmed.

Preparation of Symposia:

  • All proposals must be submitted in English.
  • Each symposium will be allocated a total of 90 minutes.
  • Each symposium will have a maximum of four presenters
  • Each Symposium should be structured to encourage audience engagement, i.e., a short introduction, each presentation slot (approx. 20mins) should include time for a Q&A. At the end of the session there should be 5 minutes for concluding remarks from the Chair.
  • The symposium chairs confirm that they will register and pay to attend the conference and chair the symposium, should it be accepted. All symposium participants must register and pay to attend the conference. We regret, no financial assistance can be provided for travel or other expenses
  • The contact details of the chairs and the speakers must be provided.
  • Chairs submitting a symposium proposal for the ISAD 2023 meeting do so with the understanding that they will abide by the conditions, deadline policies and decisions of the ISAD 2023 Committee.

Title: Symposium title can contain a maximum of 250 characters.

Author(s): First and last names, institutions, and e-mail addresses of the authors must be fully indicated correctly and in the right order.

Symposium Overall Abstract: Abstract text should not exceed 300 words. The title of the abstract, authors' names, institutions and key words are not included in this limit.

You will also be asked to provide an abstract for each presenter you propose.

Please do not submit multiple copies of the same abstract or proposal.

Please ensure that the e-mail address of abstract authors is entered correctly to enable the Conference Organising Secretariat to communicate with you regarding the proposal. All information regarding the acceptance, any required adjustments, and scheduling will be communicated via e-mail.

Evaluation Process and Acceptance Letters:

We expect the symposia to be highly competitive. The symposia proposals will be evaluated based on the following criteria:

  1. Relevance to the conference theme (Redefining Treatment Paradigms in Mood Disorders)
  2. Current scientific impact of the symposium theme proposed
  3. Educational value

All submitted symposia will be scored by members of the Scientific Committee following which the draft program will be drawn up.

Acceptance letters will be sent via e-mail. Relevant information about your abstract's presentation including the presentation date, time, venue, presentation number will be included in the acceptance letters.
