Rebecca Müller is expert by experience (Bipolar disorder) and President of Ups & Downs, the Belgian self-help association for persons with bipolar disorder and depression and their family members. More info: www.upsendowns.be.
Born in Zürich, she has both the Belgian and Swiss nationality. She graduated from the University of Ghent, with a Masters in Art History. Since 2004 she has worked as Management Assistant in different international environments in Brussels (Euroclear Bank, Cinematek, DAS Insurance). Working in a multilingual setting has been easy for her as she speaks 4 languages fluently: German (mother tongue), Dutch, English, French. Currently Rebecca works as Management Assistant for Unia, the Belgian Equality Body and Human Rights Institute.
Since 2001 she has been active as volunteer within Ups & Downs, first as chair of the regional self-help group of Ghent, her hometown and later as vice-president and as from 2011 as president. At the moment she manages three regional self-help groups of Ups & Downs and moderates these monthly sessions. She has also been active as board member of GAMIAN (Global Alliance of Mental Illness Advocacy Networks Europe) between 2008 and 2016. More info: https://www.gamian.eu/
