Martin Preisig is full Professor at the Department of Psychiatry of the University Hospital of Lausanne, Switzerland and the director of the Psychiatric Epidemiology and Psychopathology Research Center of the department.
He graduated from the University of Zurich in 1986. After having completed specialty training in psychiatry in Switzerland, he obtained a Master of Public Health at Yale University in 1994. His main research interests involve the familial aggregation and genetic determinants of psychiatric disorders and the association between psychiatric disorders and cardio-vascular risk factors. He has received several grants from the SNFS to conduct a follow-up study on the offspring of parents with mood disorders and for CoLaus¦PsyCoLaus, a prospective multidisciplinary community study.
